We are the members of the Washington DC Deaf Branch. For 2010, we have made a number of goals as part of our Branch Mission Plan to help expand our role in Proclaiming the Gospel. There are two main goals, along with three action items below each goal.
Goal #1) Increase Sacrament Meeting attendance to an average of 70 people during the final quarter of 2010.
This goal is important because it not only reflects our committment to sharing the Gospel with potential new members, it includes helping those who are already members attend church meetings as well. The three action items under this goal are:
A) Every Member will bring at least one non-member to a church activity.
B) Every Member will help at least one non-member complete a four-generation pedigree chart.
C) Every Member will invite at least one non-member to a Sacrament Meeting.
We feel that if every member will do these things listed above, we will be able to reach our goal of having an average sacrament meeting attendance of 70 people by the end of 2010.
Goal #2) The Branch members will take part in 50 documented Missionary Experiences during the course of the year.
Missionary experiences can be any experience in which we share the Gospel with our friends or family members. In order to reach this goal, these action items have been chosen:
A) All Missionary Experiences will be recorded and posted on the Branch Missionary Experiences Blog. (That’s where you are right now!)
B) Every week, except for during fast and testimony meeting, at least one “Missionary Moment” will be shared in Sacrament Meeting.
C) Every member will participate in at least one missionary teaching experience with the full-time missionaries.
By participating in these three action items, we feel that we, as a branch, can have at least 50 missionary experiences during 2010.
Thanks for your help and participation!
